Vivstavarvstjärns Camping
Swimming area in Timrå at Vivstavarvstjärns Camping
The swimming area in Timrå and Vivsvstavarvstjärnen is located at Vivstavarvstjärns Camping.
Many of the locals bathe here on warm and sunny days. The pond is known for its clean and warm water. The municipal bathing area is located on a hill surrounded by pine trees. There is room both in the sun and in the cool shade. The sandy beach offers both morning and afternoon sun. At the beach, it is shallow a good distance out into the tarn.
If you want coffee or ice cream, you can buy it at the campsite's kiosk.
The ponds are the remnants of an old ice age river/flow that has flowed into the fagerviken. The lake has no inflow or outflow, but all water runs through the sand ridge on which Vivstavarvstjärns Camping is located. Water is pushed from various groundwater reservoirs as well as the Indalsälven river through the sand, which provides clear water. The water in the Vivsta shipyard irons gets about the same temperature as the ground it is pushed through. The ponds are in their deepest place about 10.5 meters deep but have an average depth of about 6 meters.
If you need to park your car, this is fine outside the camping area. Timrå Municipality has the parking for bathers on the right just before the boom. Here it is allowed to park from 08:00 - 22:00. During the night it is forbidden to park.
