Discover exciting activities in our surroundings and on the High Coast. We are the small campsite with proximity to most of the attractions in the Sundsvall-Timrå area. Let us be your stop on the road to the north or south. Why not stop on the way to the North Cape, Lofoten or to northern / southern Sweden. We can also be your base camp for excursions in the area. To us it is easy to turn off for the night or for a longer stop. Most things are within not too great driving distance. From Vivstavarvstjärns Camping it is not many miles to the High Coast. Ljustorp
Ljustorp offers two valleys with a plethora of resting places for stressed souls. Find your way into the mountains and the tranquillity. Here you can experience animals, nature, culture, hiking trails and lots of outdoor activities. Guests visit 2 valleys with 42 different excursions.
The West Case
Through the beautiful Västanåfall, eksjöån's waters plunge down the steep slopes of the Mjällå valley. The total drop height of over 90 meters and the nature around the fall is characterized by a utility environment. The valley is of national interest for nature conservation, among other things for the geological formations, for a reproducing sea trout tribe and unusual plants & insects.

Thai Pavilion in Utanede
King Shulalongkorn (Rama V) of Siam visited Sweden and Ragunda in 1897. Almost exactly one hundred years later, the construction of a pavilion commemorating the king's visit began. Like an exotic piece of jewelry in white and gold, in the middle of the woods, it stands there. The only one of its kind outside Thailand.

High Coast
Experience the World Heritage Site of the High Coast. The possibilities are many and suit all visitors, from the flower lover to the adventurer and the bather. You will find sandy beaches, bathing cliffs and adventurous mountaineering, long hiking tours. The High Coast is the dramatic landscape with high mountains and bays. Here you can clearly see traces of the land uplift. Once the ice sheet had disappeared, the bedrock was still pressed 286 meters compared to today.

Fagerstranden disc golf course
The disc golf course/frisbee golf course is laid as a competitive & recreation course with 2 drafts to each basket. A green slightly lighter loop (recreation) and a yellow slightly more difficult loop (competition). A wooden decking with carpet is placed at each draft. Barbecue facilities are available in the area where the course is built. Rules and overview are available at the 1st draft.
Walk and cycle in Timrå!

Hiking between the mountains!
Magical forests and breathtaking views. In Timrå there are several hiking trails many in Ljustorp and Lögdö Vildmark. Here you can hike in magnificent beautiful nature and just be. Below is a description of some trails and links to product sheets with a more detailed description of each stage.

Birsta City & Birsta Trading Area
Birsta City is the largest shopping centre in northern Sweden. Birsta is the second largest trading area in Sweden. The area is divided into West and East Birsta which are located on either side of the E4. The area has over 160 shops & restaurants. Here you will find IKEA, Biltema, EKO, XXL sport, Åhlens Outlet, ICA Maxi, Stora Coop, Willys, etc

The Dead Fall
In 1796, Lake Ragunda was emptied and a devastating tidal wave raged. In just four hours, the landscape changed and the waterfall Storforsen fell silent and became The Dead Fall. The dead fall is about a 10-minute drive from Utanede. Here you can study giant potholes, hear how it came to be that an entire lake was emptied of its water and caused Sweden's greatest natural disaster of all time. If you are lucky, your visit to the case can also offer a ride in the twisting gallery.
